Marquee Spans and Sizes

To understand how marquees can be assembled to meet your requirements, available space etc, it is important to realise that  unlike traditional tents there are no central poles  and no external guy roles.  Modern Marquees are constructed using "frames" as building blocks.  Each frame can be joined end to end or side by side to create the desired size and shape of marquee.

Frames come in Bays of 3m or 5m and various widths from 3m to 25m. If you look at the building sequence, please see the above scrolling banner, you can see the frames being assembled.  Note that the different widths of frame are used to create different sizes of open area or clear span within the marquee.  By using different frame sizes, bays or internal areas can be created within the Marquee.

Choosing the best frame combinations is part of the standard planning service we offer to customers.   However, quick guide is as follows:

3m FRAMES

This smaller size, joined end to end are perfect for creating walk ways and corridors.  They can be lined and we especially recommend this when the main marquee is lined.

They can also create small bays or sections within a larger Marquee. They are also ideal for  catering tents, for parties in small  gardens and can for larger events may be used as sheds by stall holders.

6m FRAMES

The 6m span marquee is suitable for narrow gardens, barbecues, pool parties etc. They can be also used as a reception area branching from a larger marquee in order to create a separate area.

9m FRAMES

This 9m span is our most commonly used size. These marquees are often put side by side in order to create wider marquees. Our black starlight cloths look very impressive in this size and these can be varied to cover the entire ceiling of the marquee of just a specific section for example over a dance floor. They are highly recommended especially if you want to create that special party effect.

12m FRAMES

This size is used for the corporate functions and larger show events. This marquee gives a much wider effect than the 3, 6 and 9M frames and the ceiling height is also much higher. This span allows for a much more open feel to your marquee and again the black starlight cloth is available in this 12M width allowing for that extra special touch.

15m, 20m and 25m FRAMES

The larger 15m, 20m and 25m wide marquee frames are available for the larger corporate events and shows.  

Every tent can be lined and floored with either matting, porta-floor or for that extra special touch our new wooden floor system and carpet.
